Welcome to the DeSoto Rural Fire Protection District's Website!
The District covers 260 square miles of rural southern Jefferson County and is the largest coverage area in the County. We respond to over 1,000 alarms each year.
The District has 16 paid fire fighters and 28 volunteer fire fighters.
The District has six fire stations and land for a seventh. Three of those stations have paid staff 24/7. We rely on volunteers heavily to respond to any alarm and to the other three stations when needed.
We are always accepting applications for additional volunteers.
